Volkswagen’s DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) is fantastic when maintained properly. We see too many fail because owners don’t know they need servicing.

• Clean magnetic sump plug
• Fit new filter and gasket

VW timing belts are critical safety items. If they snap, your engine is destroyed.

Typical VW timing belt intervals:

• 1.2 TSI, 1.4 TSI, 1.8 TSI, 2.0 TSI (petrol): 80,000 miles or 4 years
• 1.6 TDI, 2.0 TDI (diesel): 120,000–130,000 miles or 4–5 years
• Always check your specific engine — some are shorter

What we replace:

• Timing belt (OE quality or genuine VW)
• Tensioner and idler pulleys
• Water pump (if belt-driven — prevents future failure)
• Auxiliary drive belt
• Engine oil & filter

We’ve done hundreds of VW timing belts. We know the procedures, the torque settings, the special locking tools required. This isn’t something you want a general garage “having a go” at.

Modern VW diesels have Diesel Particulate Filters that trap soot. When they get blocked, you’ll see warning lights and reduced power.

• Forced DPF regeneration (via ODIS diagnostic tool)
• DPF cleaning (off-car chemical cleaning for heavily blocked filters)
• DPF replacement (genuine or quality aftermarket when beyond repair)

We won’t just clear the light and send you away. We’ll find out WHY it’s blocking and fix the underlying problem.

Clutches are consumable items. When yours starts slipping, juddering, or making noises, we can replace it.

What we fit:

• OE quality or genuine VW clutch kits
• Dual-mass flywheels (we’ll advise if yours needs replacing)
• Hydraulic components (master/slave cylinder) if required

Typical lifespan: 60,000–100,000 miles depending on driving style and usage.

We’re not a remap shop, but we support performance VW owners properly:

• Post-remap servicing (upgraded plugs, oil changes, cooling system checks)
• Upgraded brake installations (bigger discs, performance pads for GTI/R models)
