Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda & Seat Specialists in Telford: Main Dealer Expertise, Independent Care
Why pay main dealer prices when you can get main dealer-trained technicians at an independent garage?
Supreme Automotive brings you Master Technician qualifications, genuine ODIS diagnostics, and 40+ years of dealership experience, with transparent pricing and personal service you won’t find at a franchise.
Specialist servicing for Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda & Seat across Telford, Shropshire & the West Midlands.
What Makes Supreme Automotive Different?
Most independent garages say they “work on all makes and models.” That’s code for “we’re generalists who’ll have a go at anything.”
We’re not that garage.
Supreme Automotive is a dedicated specialist for Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat vehicles (part of the Volkswagen Audi Group, or VAG for short). We’re staffed by technicians who’ve spent their entire careers working for Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Land Rover and Nissan main dealers. Ian and John aren’t just qualified mechanics, they’re Master Technicians with EV diagnostic specialist certifications and over 40 years combined dealership experience.
That means:
- We know these vehicles inside out (because we’ve worked on thousands of them)
- We use the same diagnostic equipment main dealers use (genuine ODIS systems)
- We’re trained to the same standard as dealership technicians (often better)
- We understand brand-specific quirks, common issues, and proper repair procedures
The difference? We don’t charge main dealer prices, and you’ll actually speak to the technician working on your vehicle.
WHAT ARE VAG VEHICLES?
Understanding the Volkswagen Audi Group
VAG stands for Volkswagen Audi Group — the automotive conglomerate that owns Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, and several other brands.
While these brands have different badges and target different markets, they share:
- Common platforms (the same basic chassis and architecture)
- Shared engines and transmissions (a VW Golf and an Audi A3 often have identical drivetrains)
- Unified diagnostic systems (they all use the same ODIS diagnostic protocol)
- Similar service requirements (oil specs, service intervals, procedures)
Why does this matter to you?
Because a garage that truly understands VAG vehicles can work across all these brands efficiently. We’re not guessing or Googling repair procedures, we’re using the same technical information, diagnostic tools, and training that Volkswagen Group provides to its own dealer networks.

Specialist Services for Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda & Seat
Advanced Diagnostics & Fault Finding
We use genuine ODIS diagnostic equipment — the same system Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat main dealers use. This isn’t a cheap OBD scanner from eBay. ODIS gives us:
- Full system access (engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, comfort systems, etc.)
- Manufacturer technical bulletins and repair procedures
- Live data monitoring for intermittent faults
- Component activation testing
- Software update capability
Common diagnostic work:
- Engine warning lights (EPC, check engine, glow plug)
- Transmission faults (DSG issues, gear selection problems)
- Electronic parking brake faults
- AdBlue system errors
- DPF regeneration issues
- Air conditioning problems
- Electrical gremlins (we’re auto electrician qualified)
DSG Gearbox Servicing
VAG’s DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) is brilliant when maintained, problematic when neglected. We see too many DSG gearboxes fail because owners don’t know they need servicing.
DSG service intervals:
- DQ250 (6-speed wet clutch): Every 40,000 miles
- DQ200 (7-speed dry clutch): Every 40,000 miles or as required
- DQ381 (7-speed wet clutch): Every 40,000 miles
What we do:
- Drain old transmission fluid
- Remove mechatronic unit and inspect for debris
- Clean magnetic sump plug
- Fit new filter and sump gasket
- Refill with correct VAG-spec DSG fluid
- Reset service interval via ODIS
- Test drive and live data logging
Cost of DSG service vs cost of DSG replacement? No contest. Book your DSG service today.
Haldex All-Wheel Drive Service
Many VAG vehicles use Haldex AWD systems (Audi Quattro, VW 4Motion on transverse engines). These systems require regular servicing to maintain proper AWD function.
Haldex service interval: Every 30,000 miles or 3 years
What we do:
- Drain old Haldex fluid
- Replace Haldex filter
- Refill with correct Haldex fluid specification
- Reset service interval
- Test AWD system operation
Common Haldex issues we diagnose:
- AWD not engaging (rear wheels not driving)
- Haldex warning lights
- Juddering or binding in tight turns
- Poor traction in slippery conditions
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) Services
Modern diesel VAG vehicles have DPF systems that trap soot. When they get blocked, you’ll see warning lights and enter limp mode.
Our DPF services:
- DPF regeneration (forced regen via ODIS diagnostic tool)
- DPF cleaning (off-car chemical cleaning for heavily blocked filters)
- DPF deletion coding (for off-road or motorsport vehicles only — not road legal in UK)
- DPF replacement (genuine or quality aftermarket parts)
We’ll diagnose the root cause (faulty sensors, EGR issues, short journeys) and fix it properly — not just clear the light and send you on your way.
Timing Belt Replacement
VAG timing belts are critical maintenance items. If they fail, your engine is destroyed. Simple as that.
Timing belt intervals (typical):
- Petrol engines: 60,000–80,000 miles or 4–5 years
- Diesel engines: 100,000–130,000 miles or 4–5 years
- Always check your specific model — some are shorter
What we replace:
- Timing belt (OE quality or genuine VAG)
- Tensioner and idler pulleys
- Water pump (if belt-driven — prevents future failure)
- Auxiliary drive belt
- Engine oil & filter (while we’re in there)
Why trust us? We’ve done hundreds of VAG timing belts. We know the procedures, the torque settings, the special tools required. This isn’t something you want a general garage “having a go” at.
Clutch Replacement
Clutches wear. It’s a consumable. When yours starts slipping, juddering, or making noises, we can replace it.
What we fit:
- OE quality or genuine VAG clutch kits
- Dual-mass flywheels where required (we’ll advise if yours is worn)
- Hydraulic components (master cylinder, slave cylinder) if needed
DSG owners: Your clutches are internal to the transmission. Speak to us about symptoms before it’s too late.
Brake Services
- Brake pad & disc replacement (genuine VAG or quality equivalent)
- Brake fluid changes (every 2 years for VAG vehicles)
- Electronic parking brake services (rear caliper wind-back, EPB reset via ODIS)
- Brake system bleeding (including ABS module bleeding where required)
Air Conditioning Service & Repair
- Re-gassing (R134a or R1234yf refrigerant depending on vehicle age)
- System leak detection (UV dye tracing)
- Compressor replacement
- Condenser and evaporator repairs

WHY CHOOSE SUPREME AUTOMOTIVE FOR VAG SERVICING?
1. Main Dealer-Level Training & Equipment
- Master Technician qualified (Ian)
- Level 3 Diagnostic Technician (John)
- Genuine ODIS diagnostic system (same as VW/Audi dealerships use)
- 40+ years combined dealership experience (Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Land Rover)
- EV & Hybrid specialist training (both technicians fully qualified)
Translation: You get dealership-quality work without the dealership price tag.
2. We Actually Care About Your Vehicle
At a main dealer, you’re a number in the system. Your service advisor has never touched a spanner. The technician working on your car is paid flat-rate and rushing to the next job.
At Supreme Automotive:
- You speak directly to Ian or John (the people actually working on your vehicle)
- We’re not on flat-rate (so we’re not rushing your job to hit targets)
- We’ll explain what’s wrong in plain English (no upselling bullshit)
- We’ll show you worn parts and explain your options
Why? Because we’re VAG enthusiasts who own and drive these vehicles ourselves. Your Audi isn’t just a job ticket, it’s a vehicle we respect and understand.
3. Transparent, No-Surprise Pricing
We’ll give you a clear quote before starting work. If we find additional issues, we’ll call you and explain:
- What’s wrong
- Why it needs fixing (or doesn’t)
- What it’ll cost
- What happens if you don’t fix it
No surprise bills. No pressure. No bullshit.
4. Proper Parts, Properly Fitted
We use:
- Genuine VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat parts where it matters (critical components, warranty work)
- OE quality alternatives where it makes sense (same spec, better value)
- Manufacturer-approved fluids & lubricants (correct spec oils, transmission fluids, coolants)
What we don’t use: Cheap pattern parts that’ll fail in 6 months. Your vehicle deserves better.
5. Digital Service Records Updated
All Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat vehicles from ~2015 onwards have digital service records stored online (no more paper service books).
We update your digital service record via ODIS after every service — exactly the same as a main dealer would. This:
- Maintains your manufacturer warranty (if applicable)
- Preserves your vehicle’s service history
- Proves proper maintenance for resale value
Your service history is safe with us.
6. We’re Local, Independent & Accountable
- Family-run business (Ian and John, not a corporate franchise)
- Based in Telford (not a faceless national chain)
- Reputation-driven (we live here, we’re accountable to our community)
- Long-term thinking (we want your repeat business, not a quick buck)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to service my Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda or Seat at a main dealer to keep the warranty?
No. EU Block Exemption Regulation means you can service your vehicle at any qualified independent garage and your warranty remains intact — as long as the garage:
- Uses correct specification parts and fluids
- Follows manufacturer service schedules
- Updates digital service records (we do this via ODIS)
Supreme Automotive meets all these requirements. Your warranty is safe with us.
What's the difference between ODIS and a generic diagnostic tool?
ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) is Volkswagen Group’s official diagnostic platform. It gives us:
- Access to all vehicle systems (not just engine & transmission)
- Manufacturer repair procedures and technical bulletins
- Software update capability
- Component coding and programming
- Live data specific to your vehicle
Generic tools (like basic OBD scanners) can only read basic fault codes from the engine. They can’t access comfort systems, reset service intervals properly, or perform complex procedures.
We use ODIS — the same system main dealers use.
How often should I service my Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda or Seat?
It depends on your service schedule:
Fixed Service Schedule (variable service):
- Recommended for vehicles doing under 10,000 miles/year or lots of short journeys
- Oil service every 9,000 miles or 12 months (whichever is sooner)
- Inspection service every 19,000 miles or 24 months (whichever is sooner)
Flexible Service Schedule (time and distance):
- Recommended for vehicles doing over 10,000 miles/year with longer journeys
- Oil service calculated by vehicle (up to 19,000 miles or 24 months)
- Inspection service every 19,000 miles or 24 months
Additional items:
- Brake fluid: Every 2 years (3 years for first change)
- Timing belt: Check your specific model (typically 60k–130k miles or 4–5 years)
- DSG service: Every 40,000 miles
- Spark plugs: Every 40,000–60,000 miles (petrol engines)
Not sure? Give us your registration and we’ll tell you exactly what your vehicle needs.
Can you work on modified VW, Audi, Skoda or Seat vehicles?
Yes. We’re comfortable working on:
- Remapped vehicles
- Lowered vehicles (coilovers, air ride)
- Performance exhaust systems
- Upgraded brakes
- Engine modifications
We won’t judge your car, and we’ll service it properly. If your modifications have caused issues, we’ll be honest about it.
Do you service VAG commercial vehicles?
Absolutely. We specialise in:
- Volkswagen Transporter (T4, T5, T6, T6.1)
- VW Caddy (all generations)
- VW Crafter (2006–present)
What's your warranty on work?
All work is guaranteed for 12 months from date of completion. Genuine VAG parts carry a 24-month manufacturer warranty.
If something goes wrong with a repair we’ve done, bring it back and we’ll sort it. No quibbles.
Can I wait while my vehicle is serviced?
It depends on the work.
For quick jobs (oil service, diagnostics, minor repairs), you’re welcome to wait in our customer area.
For longer jobs (major services, timing belts, clutches), we recommend:
- Courtesy vehicle (subject to availability — book ahead)
- Collection & delivery (within 30 miles of Telford)
- Local drop-off (we’re close to Telford town centre)
We’ll always give you a realistic timeframe so you can plan your day.
Do you offer MOT testing?
Yes. We have an MOT testing bay on-site.
